Chalk Art

During the COVID-19 Pandemic I was at the tail end of my education at CU Denver. While I balancing my work and taking care of my mental health I wanted to work on a creative hobby to do during the stay at home order. So I decided to try out Chalk Art. Since I have never done chalk art before, I wanted to test my drawing skills using sidewalk chalk and charcoal and draw on my family's driveway. I kept two things in mind when drawing chalk art. One, it must be family friendly being in a big neighborhood that had families in most homes and two, it had to be something that would inspire children's creativity. I wanted to focus on drawing animated characters as a starting point to experiment with given cartoon characters were designed in different shapes and sizes. It started out as Easter eggs logos as my first experience then evolved to Pokemon to other iconic animated characters.
